DESMOND BEDLOW has been playing steel drums for more than thirty (30) years.  Born in Tobago, of the twin island state of  Trinidad and Tobago, he comes from a family of musicians.  His repertoire is varied and is drawn from his years of performing with the Our Boys Steel Orchestra, which is known as one of Tobago's best Steel Bands.

In 1973 Bedlow performed in Grenada.  In the years 1975 and 1977 he toured in Barbados, St. Lucia and numerous other Caribbean Islands.  Since performing in St. Lucia again in 1983 , he has returned on several occasions to play at the island's annual Carnival celebrations.

He presently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to do solo performances.  His musical interests are varied and range from Calypso to Jazz, Classical movements and Latin rhythms.  His versatility as a pannist has been invaluable in performances with Steel band's best composers/arrangers such as LEN ' BOOGSIE' SHARPE, JIT SAMAROO, EARL BROOKS, AND FRANK STANISCLAUS.  He is also an admirer of local Bay Area pannists such as Andy and Jeff Narell, Tom Miller and Linda Papademis.
